70 historical artifacts unveiled at museum in Zanjan province
TEHRAN - In a significant event on Friday, the Zolfaghari Archaeological Museum in Zanjan province unveiled 70 historical artifacts from the province, showcasing the historical background of Zanjan.
This unveiling coincided with the tenth day of the Fajr decade and the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic revolution of Iran, adding a historical resonance to the occasion.
The Deputy for Coordination of Construction Affairs in the Zanjan Governorate emphasized the museum's role as a narrative hub for the past and a guide to the present and future. He underscored the critical importance of preserving historical artifacts, ensuring their relevance and practical value.
Simultaneously, during the event, an archaeologist and head of the Dome of Soltaniyeh World Heritage Site delved into the cultural and historical significance of Zanjan province. “Boasting the country's highest and most diverse collection, Zanjan is seen as an ideal location for establishing a specialized coin museum in the northwest,” he commented.
Zanjan is one of the cities founded by Sassanid King Ardashir I (180-242 CE). The province makes a base for wider explorations with the architectural wonder of Soltaniyeh, the subterranean delights of the Katale-Khor caves, colorful mountains, and the UNESCO-registered Takht-e Soleiman ruins nearby.
